The nose strut protector is simply a short piece of radiator hose split in half to fit around the nose strut. It is then secured with two or three hose clamps. It works very well for eleminating metal on metal contact if the nose strut should lose its pressurization.

If the half moon shaped fairing you are referring to is on the bottom of my cowl, all the 1973 and later C182’s should already have them as it is standard equipment on all those years.

Thanks for asking.

I would like to install the half moon shaped fairing and nose strut protector. What is the cost and availability? Thanks! Levon
